Act Big Live Small Charitable Trust - the fine print
-
Act Big Live Small’s governing document is based on the Charity Commission for England and Wales' Charitable Trusts: Model Trust Deed (form GD2). As the Trust has an estimated annual income of less than £5,000 and owns no buildings or employs any staff, at the date of declaration (28 May 2024) it is not required to register with the Charity Commission. Registration will be kept under review as the Trust grows and will be pursued if and when it becomes appropriate or necessary.
-
Act Big Live Small is recognised by Her Majesty's Customs and Revenue (HMRC) as a charitable trust for tax purposes (registered 23 May 2025, HMRC charities reference number ZD37274) and is eligible for Gift Aid from the UK government for donations from UK tax residents.
-
Act Big Live Small intends to follow the operational and financial guidelines of a UK registered charity (though we remain a charitable trust today) in order to be fully prepared for an effective transition to registered charitable status should this become appropriate or necessary.
-
Funds raised via the Asian Elephant Funds are restriced funds and donated directly to our partner, Save Elephant Foundation (SEF) - a registered Thai non-profit organisation.
SEF’s Thai Government-issued registration number is ‘Chor Mor 282’. You can view SEF’s registration certificate here (note the document is in Thai).
