Walk for Asian Elephants Week 2026

Walk for Asian Elephants Week is Act Big Live Small’s global event for World Elephant Day

In 2026 we ran the event from 9-15 August, and it was very much a “soft launch”. We wanted to create a foundation to build upon as we plan to make this Act Big Live Small’s annual flagship elephant campaign. Keep your eyes peeled for news regarding our 2027 plans!

The goal for 2026 was to raise £3,000 to help outfit our partner Save Elephant Foundation’s brand-new elephant medical facility with essential medical supplies and equipment.

Thanks to our generous donors, the event raised £3,590.25!

100% of that amount went directly to Save Elephant Foundation (SEF) and will help support elderly, injured and traumatised elephants like Kabu - click here to read her story.

Kabu’s story, and the work of renowned conservationist Lek Chailert, founder of SEF - are the inspiration behind Act Big Live Small, and they’re why we launched Global Walk for Asian Elephants.

How Walk for Asian Elephants Worked in 2026

  • Supporters donated money – thank you to everyone who did so!

  • People all over the world walked with us in solidarity with Asian elephants!

  • There were no set distances. No required routes. No fundraising expectations.

  • Participants could walk anywhere, anytime during 9-15 August. They could do so with family members, friends, or pets – it was important to us that the walk was accessible.

  • To help raise awareness we asked participants to print out our “I walked for Asian elephants” sign, snap a photo of their walk with the sign, share it on social media and tag us. You can see some of our supporters in the photo above!

We learnt so much from our first Walk for Asian Elephants Week. Now we’re taking some time to put those learnings to good use as we plan for Walk for Asian Elephants Week 2027.
